Planck in Decarbon Days
At Decarbon Days 2026 in Cottbus (the EU's first Net Zero Valley), Planck presented directly to the people who shape and fund European deep tech: Michiel Scheffer, President of the European Innovation Council, MEP Christian Ehler, and Dr. Beate Baron of Germany's federal economics ministry, at an event opened by Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Planck was one of only five companies chosen to put its case to that room.
Access at this level is the point. The EIC is the EU's flagship deep-tech funder, and the officials present shape the budgets and rules behind Europe's industrial decarbonization. Being one of a handful of companies heard directly by them puts Planck on the radar where Europe's deep-tech priorities are decided.
Maryam used the platform to make a pointed argument: Europe's Net Zero Valleys have the policy scaffolding and the founders, but not the connective tissue between them, so each region rebuilds the same thing locally. Networked innovation, she argued, is the missing infrastructure. That's the kind of perspective Planck brings into these rooms alongside its technology.
