We recently participated in the consultation for Norway’s National Quantum Technology Strategy, a key step in shaping the country’s role in the global quantum landscape.
This consultation was part of the Norwegian government’s preparation of a knowledge base for their strategy work in the field, requested to Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway and the Norwegian National Security Authority.
Planck’s contribution focused on advocating for the critical role of quantum computing in the future of material design for the energy sector. We highlighted the necessity of public funding, accessible test infrastructure, and collaboration models to lower the high barrier to entry for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). Our input stressed the need to focus the national strategy on areas where Norway has existing strengths, such as materials, energy, and climate solutions.
It is a great sign that we were chosen as subject-matter experts on this topic, and we are proud to have contributed input on how to connect research, innovation, and industry in this exciting field.
